The Church is the only organization on earth that exists for those who are not part of it.  We must reach out to those who do not know Jesus.  There are many ways to do this and the methods are different depending on whether the church is serving people locally or far away.

Online Messages

Don't limit yourself into thinking that your website is just for the people that come through your doors each week.  The internet gives you the opportunity for global impact.  People are looking for answers.  Make your messages available online so people can watch, listen, and respond.

Online Front Door

Other than your people, your website is one of the more outward facing parts of your ministry.

Engage your community by having an engaging website.  This is the first impression of your church.  It is the new front door.  But more than a door, it’s actually a window into what your church is all about.  And if you can engage people to join into the life of the church via the web then you have further ways to reach them.  People are used to high quality websites, your church should be leading the way in your community with an excellent website.

Events

Invite people in your community to events, retreats, seminars, ministries, concerts etc. that you sponsor or host.

Use your website to promote the event and if the event is at your church then use check-in kiosks to make registration convenient.  Also use children's check-in to provide a safe a secure environment for parents and their kids.

Small Groups

Provide a small group finder on your website so people in your community can find a caring group near them.  Have small groups that expect new people to attend.  Provide evites that your people can use to invite their friends who need to know Jesus.  Train your people how to share their faith and be a light in their community.

Missions

When a group goes on a mission trip, give them a page on your website. From any internet connection they can update people with the status of what God is doing through them, add pictures, prayer requests, or blog - plus display their twitter feed.  If privacy is important then you can always use a login for security.

Use your website as a tool for your missionaries.  You can give each missionary their own page on your website and they can update it themselves with pictures, prayer requests, their their twitter feed or their blog feed.
